Malacca Straits Mosque.


This ‘Masjid Selat’ is very unique. It is also known as a 'Masjid Terapung'. 'Masjid Selat' was located at 'Pulau Melaka'. Its construction began in June, 2003 and finished on August, 2006. This mosque was launched by the Yang di-pertuan Agong, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, son of Syed Putra Jamalullail on 24 November 2006.

For your information, this Straits Mosque was built in the middle of the central business district in Lower Town of Melaka. It also as a recent landmark in Malacca is well indicating determination state government commitment to the teachings of Islam.
